I have been working with Tonya on my weight and fitness problem for eight months.
Back in April 2005 I was 21 stone (294lb/133kg), was wearing a tight 46inch waist trouser, was unable to walk upstairs without getting out of breath and had a chronic problem with a weak lower back.
I am now 3 stone (42lb/19kg) lighter am in a 42inch trouser, regularly ride my bike 30+ miles in just over 2 hours and my osteopath tells me that in the 25 years that I have been seeing him, my back has never been in better shape.

I am someone who has been battling with my weight since 16 years old; the exercise stopped but the eating didn't.
I have fluctuated from 9 and half stone to 13 and half stone several times during the past 13 years. And you would have thought that going through the gruelling process of loosing significant amounts of weight several times, would have taught me a lesson.
However, as they say with recovering alcoholics: "once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic". It is the same for people who have lost weight - they will always potentially have a weight problem. OR THAT IS WHAT I THOUGHT, UNTIL I MET TONYA.
During the past 12 months, the Life Style Program Tonya set up for me (included fitness, exercise and psychology) taught me how not to blame my problems on everything else and not to feel guilty. Of course I learned the obvious things like how to 'work a muscle' and what are 'good and bad foods'.
But those are things that you can read about in a book; what Tonya left me with on a weekly scale was inspiration and now that our 12 months is over, my outlook on my health and body is one of being in complete control – a feeling I have never experienced before about myself (which is strange because everything else in my life is very controlled).
So, thank you Tonya; you are one in a million. I wish they had a teacher like you at every school through out the country. That way everyone would live longer and more active lives.
