“Adrienne has been providing Innergym sessions at Kilfillan House for about 2 years and has become extremely popular with many of our residents. The group has quadrupled in size since it s first session and she provides and excellent level of service.

We believe she is a huge asset to our activities programme and encourage our residents to be more active in their daily lives”

In the time that Adrienne has been coming to our reminiscence neighbourhood she has made the exercise class so enjoyable for our residents.

The residents who she is working with are all in various stages of dementia and she shows patience, kindness and understanding.

I would recommend her classes to everybody.

Our Work in Residential and Nursing Homes

Personal training expertise should by no means be available to only the young and fit. We at Innergym have experience of training people of all ages and health profiles here in the gym. But our commitment doesn't stop there.

Older people have a right to maintain their mobility, their flexibility and physical and emotional wellbeing for as long as possible. Research has shown that regular activity improves bone density, balance and coordination - significantly reducing the chances of accident and improving recovery rates if accident should occur. Those with dementia are proven to sleep better, eat better and feel better if they keep active – potentially reducing the need for medication.

Our qualified professionals visit nursing and residential homes across the Midlands and the South East. We offer therapeutic exercises in groups or on a room to room basis. Specially structured to the participants individual needs sessions can consist of :

We talk to carers and activity organisers to understand the needs of the group or the individual – do we need to energise or relax? Do we need to accommodate functional limitations or chronic disability? Whatever the desired outcome our sessions promote a sense of wellbeing and help older people to get back in touch with their own bodies.

Indeed our sessions have proved so popular that we now run in-house workshops to make residential and nursing home staff aware of the importance of exercise and the little touches they can add to improve the quality of life of those in their care.

We are currently working with over 30 care homes. For more information on how we can support your programme of events for the elderly please contact Adrienne.
